Society without Politics (2019)

Society without Politics explores the relationship between the individual and the group. The title is an oxymoron, seeking to capture the utopian nature of an apolitical society. The show is an installation of ceramic sculptures, video projection and shadows. Using playful visual metaphors such as “balance of power”, “political stripes”, “playground”, “merry-go-round” and “circus”, the work employs dark humour to question social dynamics and explore how the political pervades ostensibly innocent aspects of human existence.
